Festival and Events

The National Cultural Commission (NCC) organizes and supports a number of festivals and events throughout the year to showcase and celebrate the country’s rich cultural heritage. These festivals and events offer a unique opportunity to experience and learn about Papua New Guinea’s diverse cultural heritage. They also provide a platform for local artists, musicians, and performers to showcase their skills and talents, and promote cultural exchange and understanding.

Here are some of the major festivals and events that the NCC supports

Bundi Komba Festival

The upcoming Bundi Komba Festival will take place in the Usino Bundi District of the Madang Province in Papua New Guinea. This beautiful region is known for its stunning natural landscapes, as well as its rich cultural heritage, making it the perfect location for this unique celebration of traditional food culture. Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Bundi people, as well as sample the delicious and nutritious local dish known as Komba, which is made from various types of pandanus fruit harvested in the area.
